Paper Straws Make No Sense

Here’s what doesn’t make sense to me we’re still drinking out of plastic cups, with plastic lids, and plastic spoons, but somehow the paper straw is supposed to save the planet? Like, what are we even doing. If the goal is to reduce plastic, then shouldn’t the whole setup change, not just the straw? If anything, just go all paper paper cups, paper coasters, paper lids. At least then it’s consistent. But even then, most paper cups have a thin plastic lining inside so they don’t leak, which makes them hard to recycle anyway. So we’re still kinda stuck. It’s like we took the easiest thing to replace and said, yeah that’s enough. Meanwhile the rest of the drink is wrapped in plastic. If we’re serious about being eco-friendly, we should be switching to full paper or reusable stuff altogether not sipping from a soggy straw in a plastic cup and pretending we made a difference.
CS vs IT

Man, it happens way too often people hear “IT” or “Computer Science” and instantly think they’re the same thing, like both are just about sitting in front of a screen and coding all day. It’s honestly frustrating because they miss the point completely. IT is about keeping systems alive fixing networks, handling databases, managing servers, securing systems, making sure everything works. Computer Science, on the other hand, is about building that world creating software, designing algorithms, solving deep logic problems, and figuring out how machines think. But people love to simplify it into “oh, you’re in computers, so you must code,” and it’s annoying because it makes the effort and knowledge behind each field sound smaller than it is. It’s like calling a doctor and a pharmacist the same because they both deal with medicine. Both rely on tech, yeah, but what they do with it? Completely different.
